I chose to have a sentimental painting framed by ACT Framing Doctor at the Queanbeyan shop front after much research into framing places in the ACT/Queanbeyan region. I paid in full Saturday 9/3/2024. I was told my painting would be framed within a week and they would call me to come and collect. After multiple follow up attempts on my behalf (no contact initiated by them), I went to the Queanbeyan shop front unannounced on Wed 27/3 to collect my painting. I was told that my artwork had either been lost, given away or stolen. That they could see my artwork on their security footage but did not have it. I was obviously quite upset about this considering how much the artwork meant to me. How do you “give” my artwork to someone else? When were they going to tell me? Every time I called, I was pushed back, it was only when I went into the shop unexpectedly that I was given an update. I asked for a refund immediately (they did not offer), a full refund was given, though what price do you put on a sentimental piece? It was more than money I had lost. On 28/3 I received a phone call from Ali who had found my artwork. It had been “misplaced” between other papers. My painting was framed on the same day and available for collection after lunch. There was no cost charged for this. While I appreciate Ali’s effort to resolve this, the stress caused means that I’m not sure I will hang my painting for quite some time, it has left a sourness to the positive outcome and am reminded of it every time I look at the painting. Picture of the final outcome included with review.

I went here because of the reviews, and I can’t say I’m disappointed. The staff were friendly, and completed the work quoted in about 20 minutes. I was offered a coffee while I waited, and conversed with Sam. I recommend this business for the quality of the work that they provide. My framed canvas will indeed last years

Fantastic work and highly recommended. Ali is miles faster than the previous framer my company used and his work is far better quality. Ali is friendly, conscientious and took the trouble to bring us a couple of samples when we inquired about swapping to his business --something none of his competitors did. I'm extremely happy with his work, and I'm really happy with the fast turnaround and the ease of contacting him.

I had the ACT Framing Doctor frame up a jersey - it turned out amazing and the turn around was within the week which was faster than I expected. Couldn't be more happy with the outcome and the service I received.

Ali was terrific - helpful throughout the whole experience from concept to product. The turnaround time offered is leaps and bounds ahead of competitors - completed a 20-jersey order in less than a week! Can’t thank you guys enough.

SO disappointed with the end result. I feel like my wedding gift is ruined. Checked previous reviews before taking a cross stitch in to be framed. Asked if they were experienced at framing cross stitches, and told the owner/manager (I assume) that I was very particular and wanted the material to be straight, particularly close to the frame. I wasn't texted with advice that my job was ready to be collected - I found out when I phoned to check on its progress three weeks after dropping it off - not a big deal, I wasn't in a hurry, which I had advised when I dropped it off. When I went to collect it, it was framed quite strangely with about 5x more 'free' (with no stitching) material above the highest row of stitching than was below the lowest row of stitching. I was told that could be fixed by reducing the size of the frame - which they did. I also pointed out at the time how crooked the material was close to the frame at both top and bottom - which was acknowledged. This was not however, touched and I there was no offer to fix it, despite admitting it was crooked. When I suggested that it was going to be up to me to fix it myself, the owner/manager (I assume) agreed. When I got home I took the project to a neighbour to see if I was overreacting (she agreed it was very disappointing), and, after I removed the cardboard corners (which I hadn't done earlier), she pointed out that the stitching isn't horizontally centred - and we discovered there is a 1.5cm difference from amount of 'free' material on left than that on the right. This doesn't sound like much, but is enough to draw the eye. The cross stitch is a wedding present, and the framing was not cheap (even with the $20 discount/concession for a disappointing job), and I feel that I am now giving a sub-par gift. The framing of pictures, etc, in the business look to be good quality, but I would certainly NOT recommend them for projects such as mine.

Ali does the framing for the company I work for. He is always spot on with quality in big quantities and fast! With absolute certainty - better than his competitors and we've tried a few! Our clients love the frames and always comment on the quality of the frames and great packaging when receiving their frames. Thanks Ali!

Best Framer in Canberra! AAA+ After shopping around Canberra for framing I found I couldn't get anything 'beyond the basic'. The Framing Doctor is the Guru of Framing. Their cost is also much cheaper than most other Canberra framers which is a bonus with the quality of work that they produce. Their selection of frames in stock (larger than their Web site indicates) will satisfy any desire. This friendly and eager to please family are an asset for Canberra as true professionals in the Framing Industry. Their wealth of knowledge will create a frame and colour scheme that suits your artwork or item. Their frames are of excellent quality and perfectly produced. The framing is completed ultra-quick and you are instantly notified. I have had no issues with the friendly people, procedure, quality of workmanship or their framing. Their Web site is also an essential bit of kit if you want to see your artwork in a frame style with card colours - you need to check it out - amazing. The Web site allows you to upload a picture and frame it in numerous frame styles etc., to work out what suits your taste. Fun too. I have had many frames made by The Framing Doctor plus reframed artwork. They have my loyalty after trying so many other Canberran Framers only being disappointed. Try the Framing Doctor, you won't regret it. Regards

Couldn't be happier with the work of the framing doctor. I came into their workshop with multiple pieces of all different shapes and sizes that I wanted all framed together and no idea how. The staff were very knowledgeable and creative and were able to show me multiple designs of frames, colours and layout. The final product was incredible. 10/10 will recommend.
